The Portuguese sensation, who plays for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, is enjoying a mid-season sabbatical. Their next scheduled game is a friendly Riyadh Cup match against Inter Miami of the Major League Soccer on February 1.
Everlasting rivals Ronaldo and Messi will compete in their “Last Dance” in that match. They are eager to share the field at the club level after regularly facing off during their respective tenures at Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Messi is currently taking a break as well, having returned to his home country of Argentina and enjoyed the American off-season. Ronaldo has also seized the chance to return home, as 2024 was greeted on Portuguese territory. When they go out to supper in the sunshine with Georgina, the 38-year-old still lets loose.
With 54 goals in his games for club and country in 2023, Ronaldo scored more goals than any other player. He will be looking for more of the same in the upcoming year. At 36 years old, Messi is likewise not showing any signs of slowing down, and two all-time greats should still be playing for a while.
