TIMOTHÉE CHALAMET DONS BESPOKE CARTIER CANDY-INSPIRED NECKLACE AT ‘WONKA’ PREMIERE

Timothée Chalamet stole the show at last night’s world premiere of “Wonka” at London’s Royal Festival Hall thanks to an amazing custom Cartier necklace that was inspired by the newest Warner Bros. film. The actor, who is 27 years old, donned a Tom Ford suit that brought back memories of Wonka’s iconic purple overcoat. Chelsea boots with square toes in chocolate brown helped him to finish the ensemble.

As an ambassador for Cartier, Chalamet worked with Marie-Laure Cérède, the brand’s creative director of jewelry and watchmaking, to design the necklace. Almost 1,000 additional precious stones were set in a white gold base, showcasing 964 emeralds, rubellites, pink tourmalines, and blue opals in this eye-catching piece.

According to Kerry McDermott for British Vogue, this exquisite creation—which took over 450 hours to craft—perfectly fits the contour of his throat. With regard to the piece, Chalamet remarked, “It’s beyond anything I could have dreamt.”

There are more occasions for this distinctive necklace than just this private function at the Royal Festival Hall. The confection-inspired piece, which is a part of The Cartier Collection, will be on show in a number of jewelry exhibits worldwide.
