Antonela Roccuzzo and Sons Shine at Ballon d’Or Gala as Messi Secures Historic Victory

Today is the 67th Ballon d’Or ceremony in Paris, France, where the world’s top football (soccer) players are honored. Messi has won his eighth Ballon d’Or, and he had the support of the people that mattered the most to him: his wife, Antonela Roccuzzo, and their children.

Antonela and her boys, Thiago Messi, Mateo Messi Roccuzzo, and Ciro Messi Roccuzzo, all dressed in all-black outfits to emulate the soccer player. The family was all smiles as they stood on the red carpet, waiting to see if their famous father would win the prestigious honor. The 35-year-old beauty looked stunning in an off-the-shoulder gown.

Messi went on to win the Ballon d’Or, the most prestigious individual award in all leagues and countries. France Football magazine presents it to the greatest male football player in the globe. Messi won the prize for the eighth time, and he received a standing ovation.

“I couldn’t have imagined having the career I’ve had. Everything I’ve accomplished I’ve had the good fortune to play for the best team in the world and the best squad in history. It is good to take home these individual awards. To win the Copa America and then the World Cup is incredible,” Messi remarked in his speech.

Messi is the first guy to earn the prestigious honor while playing for three separate clubs, according to Yahoo Sports. Messi was the only player from the MLS nominated for the award.
